WHITECODE APPRENTICES GRADUATE WITH FIRST CLASS HONOURS
28 Feb 2023
Whitecode Consulting is delighted to announce that three of its current apprentices, Will Abbott, Amy Webb and Sam Verwyst have graduated from university with First-Class Honours Engineering degrees.
Whitecode believes that young people are the future of the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) engineering industry. Training and education are core values at Whitecode, which is why the M&E consultancy offers an in-house apprenticeship scheme to train the next generation of engineers. Whitecode is thrilled that its very own apprentices, Will Abbott, Amy Webb and Sam Verwyst have all passed their final university examinations with First-Class Honours. The outstanding Bachelor of Engineering degrees received by the apprentices are indicative of the high calibre of candidates that Whitecode takes on as its apprentices.
Commenting on receiving a first-class degree, Will Abbott commented “I’m over the moon and very happy to see all the years of hard work have paid off. Whitecode were instrumental in helping me achieve this result; all of my Whitecode mentors have definitely played a part in my education over the years. Following this, I would like to proceed with gaining my Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) accreditation.”
On receiving his excellent marks, Sam Verwyst said, “Firstly, I’m relieved that I finally have my results! Secondly, I’m really proud of myself especially being the first person in my family to achieve a degree.”
He continued, “All previous Whitecode graduates were extremely supportive of me during my time at university. I probably wouldn’t have gone on to further education if Whitecode hadn’t offered to sponsor me; so not only did they help me achieve a degree, they gave me the push to start one. Now that I have my Bachelor’s degree, I will be applying for a Master’s which will help towards my larger goal of becoming a Chartered Engineer.”
Speaking on her achievement, Amy Webb said, “I am really pleased that all the hard work has paid off, and getting a First-Class Honours just tops it off. Whitecode has done a lot to help me in my time at university, in particular helping me prepare for exams and giving me complete checks on my essays. I would like to especially thank company directors Ellen and Jason for really helping me with the structure and coherence of my dissertation – I couldn’t have achieved what I have without them.”
Thinking about her next steps, Amy added, “Next up, I hope to progress my Licentiate Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (LCIBSE) accreditation, as well as progressing further in my sustainability role at Whitecode. Perhaps after a well needed break, I’ll go for a Master’s in sustainability!”
Alex Hill, Managing Director at Whitecode, stated: “A huge congratulations to Will, Amy and Sam! They have proven themselves to be three intelligent, conscientious, and ambitious engineering apprentices, which is why we have given them our full support throughout their degree programmes. The whole Whitecode team is very proud of them and they should be proud of themselves for their exceptional results.”
